The late night Journey

Tunnel

Sitting in the dark of the sunless sun room, I got the urge to move.
I didn't know where I would end up, but I spontaneously started to walk.
I exit the front door and take a deep breath, the fresh mountain air in my lungs
Twenty steps later, I look straight up-my God the stars up above.

Country in my ears, flip flops and shorts, I got myself into a groove.
Walking down Tyler into my own unknown, my thoughts began to stalk.
Every so often, my head turned up to see the gleaming lights God has sung.
My mind racing fast, then slow again, tears fill my eyes out of love.

I keep going through this small suburban place until a crossroad meets.
Left or right? I didn't know, but my feet seemed to know where to turn.
A few steps later and my eyes seemed to find a place I was destined to go.
Flipping and flopping down a wide winding path, I see where my journey begins.

The tunnel had seemed to draw me in from the second I saw its lights
Questions I had about the other side and beyond dragged me forward to see
I passed through seeing the patched up walls of graffiti and wondered what was said
But reaching the darkness on the other side was a journey I didn't expect.

A path led down to houses on both sides with buzzing wires above my head
The nearly pitch black was amazing to me. A comfort to see all the stars
I kept on going into the unknown and had no expectations of whats to come.
The paved trail I was on had a cross road on it. This one was made of dirt.

I could have turned right to see this new trail, but a sign said "Coyotes Ahead"
"Um, no..." I exclaimed finally breaking the silence aside from the passing cars
Ten steps further, I crossed the main road to see another path, and where it has come from
Up a hill I went passed Coyote Run park, and at the top my eyes were delightfully hurt!

I looked to the East. My home that-a-way, to see a sea of flickering orange fire
From where I stood, I saw the most amazing thing. A city that was truly alive
It was dark as well, so another look upwards reaffirmed what I already knew
The stars. So many. A million and one looking down at me. Flashing like paparazzi.

I stood at this hill for a very long time trying to drink it all in. But my eyes began to tire
And a brisk cold wind blew from mountains, warmth I would now to strive.
Alas, when I glanced up to Heaven, a flash flew across my eyes! A meteor just passing through!
My cue to leave was just that. As I was doing the same. There was nothing else to see

I begin walking "home" and find myself looking back at the hill which I stood for so long,
And promised myself I would be back again to capture that magic once more.
Not a mountain in sight due to the hiding moon, so they sleep in peace tonight
I cannot wait to see them in the morn. In the new daylight

And everything will be alright...

Easter Dinner

After I got back from golfing, there was a little time to socialize with some new friends. My aunt Sue had her friend Amy over, who made a phenomenal salad tonight! Also, Malaika invited her boyfriend over, I think Alex was his name. Seemed like a nice young man.

After social hour, dinner was ready. Lamb with a pear-butter sauce (so deeeelish,) gravy, mashed sweet potatoes with a touch of nutmeg, the salad (which had pomegranate, feta cheese, strawberries, spinach, iceberg, and topped with sliced almonds and a Balsamic vinegar glaze,) and for dessert was a pound cake in the shape of a lamb! Everything was absolutely wonderful and the crowd was great.

Lots of laughter at the dinner table!

It was a very wonderful Easter. I am blessed to have family like this. A place to stay. Mountains to look at. And people back east that care.

Thank you to you all

I love and miss everyone and I hope you all had a phenomenal Easter Sunday! Keep checking in!

Golfing @ Flatirons

Im golfing today. Omigod. It is SO beautiful to tee-off and see mountains!!! What a gorgeous day too! 70 and sunny!

So here's how it went!!!! Got there at about 2pm (3pm WI) and hit a small bucket o balls. Then after warming up and almost hitting cars, it was time to hit the links.

#1. 391 yds par 4. Drove it about 300. Dead center of the Fairway! No joke. Shot a +1.
#2. 422 yds par 4. Drove it bout 290 crooked into #3 fairway. Great recovery with a PW and a 2-putt gave me +2.
#3. 404 yds par 4. Just  off the fairway at about 285. Took my 3-iron and punched it through the tree line to just off the green! Had a struggle with my LW and a 3 putt gave me +2
#4. 188 yds par 4. Took my 7-Iron and gave 'er the ole heave-ho perfect distance at about 195 yds. I was just off the green. Took the LW and a perfect shot later, I was at a gimme 2-ft. from the pin! THAT'S A PAR FOLKS!!!
#5. 399 yds. par 4. Drove it PERFECTLY over the river and passed the sand bar at a dist. of 300 yds. Center of fairway. Took the PW and set her up on the fringe for a 30' attempt. It was a 2-putt, but THAT'S ANOTHER PAR FOLKS!!!
#6. 368 yds. par 4. Yep. Did it again. Drove it straight and true back over the river at about 315 yds. Took the LW...again...and set her up on the green for a 2-putt gimmie PAR FOLKS!!!

(Sounding too good to be true yet? Well, its true!!! But keep reading...haha)

#7. 560 yds par 5. AND my problems begin. After a good n' straight drive of 270, my hybrid decided to veer me off to the left. Gave me an OB. Dropped it for 3 shots already. Still about 70 yds left. Tried my hand at the LW again. That mojo was gone. Shot that one twice finally getting it on the green, but 40' from pin. A 3-putt gave me the coveted snow man 8 for a +3. Oye vay.
#8. 162 yds. par 3. Welcome back MOJO!!! Took my 9-iron and put her perfect distance to the fringe. I took a go with the LW, but over-shot to 20' to pin. My 2-putt gave me a +1. Cant complain at all!!!
#9. 372 yds. par 4. I was FlyingHiatus right now at how well I was doing. Smiling the entire time! My final tee-off was a mulligan. Put the first one 300 yds. into the parking lot. Yep. Nothing broke though. Not even my golf game. The second drive was still a little to the left, but stayed in play. Same distance. Took the PW to put her close, but botched it and had to resort back to the LW. Didn't help. Had to hit the LW twice to get on the green and then a 2-putt gave me +2.

Overall- it was the best I have ever played golf. EVER. Had an awesome time looking at the Mountains and the Flatirons! It was so relaxing and I am fairly sure that is why I was playing so well. (With the exception of #7.)
Phenomenal. I like that you can see the cart in the reflection. I even got tan today! FAN-DAN-DIS!!!

This was my drive on #6. That's the flag in the background!!! Amazing

This was the view I had all day. Right here I am about to tee off on # 5. So calming! Best golf day of my LIFE!!!

Here ya go. This is the map of what I (personally) DOMINATED today!!!

First thing I saw...

Its tough to see, but wow.

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Officially completed my first night in CO. Didn't get to sleep til about 2am. Super restless. BUT I did get to sleep. Its about 8:30 here, the sun is up and it is absolutely gorgeous outside! Not a cloud in sight! And now today, Easter Sunday, I will be attending church with my Aunt Sue and the family. Truth be told, I haven't been to church in a very long time.

Then, its a typical Easter day with a family. Finding Easter eggs (which I hid super well and told Malaika that for each egg she finds she gets $2...good luck,) relaxing, maybe driving around Louisville, then an awesome Easter dinner!

I could possibly go on another adventure today, so KEEP CHECKIN' IN for more stuff.

Oh and I saw I had over 100 views...holy shit that was awesome! Totally unexpected!!!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH AND HOLY HELL I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!

Peace out

Bit of a problem...

Now now...don't ya'll get worried. I am fine. BUT Google seems to not want me to upload videos. So far, I have tried to agree to the "Terms of Agreement" for uploads, but there is nowhere to click " I agree." So I am at a bit of a standstill...

I want to get my videos uploaded so badly and I dont want anything getting in my way!!! Ugh. SO. Until I can, then I guess you will all have to wait to see how crazy I was during the road trip.

I woke up at 8:00am Wisco time, in a place called Grand Island, NE. Its 11:37 here in Louisville right now. My body thinks its 12:37. I am so tired I just dont want to think anymore. I already had to hide some easter eggs for my cousin tonight and that took a lot of brain power!!!

OK...well, hopefully I get SOMETHING uploaded soon...

Love you all!!!
Thanks for checking in on this.
Nite

Rango. (this ones for Adam)

I MADE IT!!!!

Road trip to follow...

YESSSSS!!! I have made it to my destination!

After a day and a half of traveling, I have officially made it to my aunts house (in one piece, mind you) in Louisville, CO.
This is just the post to let you all know I have arrived safely.

I am going to be up so late tonight getting the road trip post all set up.

So, until then...Have a wonderful night everyone and look for the "road trip" blog sometime tomorrow!

(Midday Friday. Rest-stop tree climb! (I made a habit of doing it))

here...We...GO

Yep. Today is the last day I will be in Wisconsin for (at least) a month. My nerves are racing with anticipation to see what the road ahead holds.

This is not to say that EVERYONE here will be missed. My friends, family, co-workers...everyone. I will be thinking of you all as I embark on this crazy and wild experience.

Today my thoughts will be especially with the kids in my class. I cannot describe how much I will miss their laughter and ability to make me laugh. I keep reassuring them that I will be back and I will see them soon. There's no telling how they perceive that, but I am doing my best!

Tonight I will be having dinner with my extremely loved Mom and Brother. They are the two that really pushed and inspired me to take this journey and see what I can find. I will be looking for their insight as to how they experienced Colorado. Each were searching for something. As am I.

Then-after dinner, I will get my brothers snowboard to borrow, get a few more supplies, a full tank of gas, some sleep, and then...OFF I GO!!!!!!

There's no telling when my next post will be up, so for now, I will be saying GOODBYE to my absolutely beloved Wisconsin!

Goodbye to all who support this decision! I truly love you all. I will do my best to keep in touch somehow throughout this journey. (Just keep checking here!)

If anyone is a praying person, send one out for a safe and enjoyable journey for me...Thank you!

Sayonara, Adios, Ciao...and all those Goodbye things :-)

I want to thank a lot of people for the support over the last few weeks. My decision to head to Colorado was a big one. The biggest adventure I have ever had. SO...without further adieu, Enjoy!!!

(no there are obviously no pictures or videos yet. Chill. Im still in Wisconsin!)
